So, you've made the decision to get your first tattoo and you want to know what you should do to prepare and what you should expect. This is why we've written this article to help guide you through what you should expect for your first tattoo experience. We'll cover everything from finding an finding the right artist to the do's and don'ts for your first tattoo.
Finding a Tattoo Artist
The first step to getting your first tattoo is figuring out who you would like to do the work. Contrary to popular belief, not all tattoo artists are the same. The complexity and style of your tattoo has a huge impact on the individual tattoo artist. Do your research, and spend some time browsing through our artist's portfolios
to determine the artist you feel matches your personality and style the best.
Figuring Out the Tattoo Design
One of the most important steps to getting your tattoo done right is communicating your idea. The more detailed information you can give about what you do like and what you don't like will help make the process easier. Make sure to bring in references, such as photos or drawings to help give the tattoo artist a better idea of what you're looking for. From here, one of our tattoo artists will take notes of what you're looking for and sketch out an idea for your tattoo. Once the initial sketch is completed, your artist will give you an opportunity to preview to go over any adjustments to the design to make it perfect.
Once the design of the tattoo is completed, your artist will make a stencil that they will let you test the placement on your body on the day of getting the tattoo.
